Introduction of Speakers

Mr. Orville Schell is a world renowned expert on relations between China and the United States. He is the Arthur Ross Director of the Center on U.S.-China Relations at Asia Society in New York and a former Professor and Dean at the University of California, Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. He has conducted research on the China - U.S. relation and traveled widely in China since the mid-70s.

Schell is the author of fourteen books, nine of them about China, and a contributor to numerous edited volumes. He is also a contributor to well-known magazines such as The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The New York Times Magazine to name a few. He will share the risks and opportunities in China - U.S. cooperation.

Dr. Jinshui Zhang is the only Chinese in New York State SBDC Centraland assumes the responsibility of managing the statewide international business and trade services to businesses in NYS. Since 1996, Mr. Zhang has strategically positioned small and medium sized businesses to take advantage of the business and trade development opportunities in the global marketplace. He takes charge of:

1、Guided the SBDC team to provide expert counseling to a great number and variety of companies on various issues in the global marketplace;

2、Worked to bring about cooperative agreements and partnership;

3、Assisted companies in taking advantage of opportunities of trade, business development, investment, joint ventures, WFOE operations, and sourcing projects in the global market;

4、Organized and coordinated national and international conferences, training sessions and seminars for international trade and business development;

5、Served as the primary liaison between New York State and government agencies and overseas partners at different levels; and

6、Organized and coordinated the activities in economic and business development between US and foreign countries.
